Panel board emulsion Aquawax 88 SS

The new Aquawax 88 SS (F3.55) was specially formulated for Separate Spraying (hence the addition SS in its name). With Separate Spraying, we mean direct injection into the blender (particle board) or refiner (MDF) without pre-mixing with glue or other components.

Additives in a wax emulsion serve a double purpose. On one side they are needed to bind the wax with the water. On the other hand, they are needed to assure a good compatibility with glues, hardeners, … Due to the availability of new emulsifier systems we are able to reduce this additive component substantially and this new formulation can achieve an excellent chemical balance with a lower quantity of additives (EMULCO still assures a six months stability). Because we move to a separate spraying formulation, it is also no longer required to have the additional additives for glue, hardener, … compatibility. These additional additives have a negative effect on your water repellency because they have a hydrophilic character. In the press, the water evaporates and this means these additives will attract water by nature again thus reducing the water rejecting properties of the board. By lowering the additive content, and equally increasing the wax content, a double effect of quality improvement is achieved.
